The Ambassador Council composes of business leaders who generously give their time as member volunteers dedicated to educating and informing members about the Chamber’s vast programs, services, and benefits by encouraging members to take full advantage of these services. Ambassadors accumulate points at the end of each month by attending events, encouraging member involvement, and volunteering at various Chamber-hosted events. The Ambassador with the most points by the end of each month is awarded Ambassador of the Month.
Ryan Magdaleno of Financial Partners Credit Union, a Chamber member since January 2022, has been awarded Ambassador of the Month for August 2023!
Ryan is the Irvine Branch Manager for Financial Partners Credit Union (FPCU). He has been in the banking and credit union industry for over 20 years. Ryan’s very first job was as an intern with Washington Mutual when he was a senior in High School. He liked the idea of helping people, so it was a job that stuck with him.
In 1937, eight aviation workers pooled $900 together to create what is now FPCU. That has now grown to over 85K members with over $2 billion in assets. They have branches from San Diego to San Francisco, and they are always looking at new areas to expand to.
Ryan’s ideal client is someone that is searching for a more convenient banking experience to save time as well as protecting their money, save their money, and make money. There are multiple options to choose from when it comes to where you do your day-to-day banking or acquire loans but the one thing that FPCU has that no one else does is Ryan, himself!
Community is everything at FPCU and thoroughly enjoy being involved in the community. One of their strategic plans is investing in places where they live and work. So, when Ryan joined the Chamber of Commerce, he saw that the Ambassadors Program is the perfect way of giving back more to people and places they love to serve
Ryan’s favorite part of the Ambassador program is meeting so many different people and businesses in Newport Beach and surrounding areas: “I love the opportunity to find out what I can do to help them grow as well as provide them with financial support and education to their employees and their families.” Ryan enjoys every Chamber event to volunteer at, but some of his favorites are the award ceremonies, the breakfast or lunch events that honor those that serve in the community, the mixers, and, of course, the Christmas Boat Parade!
