The Ambassador Council composes of business leaders who generously give their time as member volunteers dedicated to educating and informing members about the Chamber’s vast programs, services, and benefits by encouraging members to take full advantage of these services. Ambassadors accumulate points at the end of each month by attending events, encouraging member involvement, and volunteering at various Chamber-hosted events. The Ambassador with the most points by the end of each month is awarded Ambassador of the Month.

Sheldon Singleton, a Chamber member since January 2010, has been awarded Ambassador of the Month for October 2023!

Sheldon is a Financial Services Professional who has been involved in the industry for 29 years with several investment licenses and life, health, and insurance licenses under his belt.

Sheldon first started in the financial industry in quite an unordinary way. In his early 20’s, he bought a car and, during that time, auto insurance was ridiculous. Sheldon wasn’t happy with this and wanted to figure out how to reduce insurance costs and educate people how to do so along the way. The rest is history. His ideal client is a business owner who has 10 employees or more or someone who has an income of over $175K, and who wants to learn about unconventional financial concepts.

Wealth and success is uncommon and to achieve it, requires you to seek and act on uncommon information. Being an electrical engineer for 22 years, Sheldon uses that training to find those strategies and strategical relationships to help people.

From the beginning, Sheldon focused on traditional insurance (life/health) and retirement planning. Today, he offers uncommon insurance, educational, tax strategies through partnerships he has established and does retirement services as an advisor in another firm.

Sheldon has been with the Chamber for over 10 years and started as an Ambassador when current Member Services Executive, Pam Smith “voluntold” Sheldon to be an Ambassador after being with the Chamber just six months. With his background as director of a business networking group and teaching Chamber members networking skills, Pam thought Sheldon would be a great addition to the Ambassador Council, and she was spot on!

Sheldon’s favorite part about being an Ambassador is “meeting new members and the camaraderie of the Ambassadors when we get together.” He particularly enjoys attending the networking luncheons and sunset mixers as well as the ribbon cuttings as he celebrates and supports the incoming new members and their successes.

Congratulations Sheldon on Ambassador of the Month!
