January Government Affairs Committee: Gas Company and Proposed Legislation Update

Lanae O’Shields is a Public Affairs Manager for SoCalGas supporting 12 cities throughout Orange County. In her role, O’Shields provides opportunities to share the SoCalGas story and achieve operational goals safely, efficiently, and always with the customer in mind. Additionally, O’Shields coordinates company relations with local city and community leaders to develop and enhance SoCalGas partnerships. Prior to joining SoCalGas, she encouraged community engagement through water education with the City of Pomona. Having spent her entire career in the utility industry, O’Shields has developed a unique talent for connecting her organization with its surrounding community. Educating communities about the importance of resources through education has been a driving force for O’Shields.

O’Shields holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of La Verne, with an emphasis in Governance and Bachelor of Psychology degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She serves on the board of Precious Life Shelter, Cypress Community College Foundation, Buena Park Boys & Girls Club, and Coastline Community College Foundation. She is also the former chairperson for the local chapter of the American Public Works Association. O’Shields resides in San Dimas with her husband, Ryan and son, Maddex (5) and new addition, Harper (9 months). In her spare time, O’Shields enjoys hosting dinner parties with family and friends, playing with her children, watching college football and exploring new places with loved ones.
