Balboa Peninsula / West Newport Town Hall Meeting to be Held September 28

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. — Mayor Pro Tem Diane Dixon will host her next town hall meeting on Monday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the former City Council Chambers at 3300 Newport Blvd., Newport Beach.

The meeting agenda will cover topics of interest to residents and business owners in Council District 1*, but all community members are welcome to attend.
The preliminary meeting agenda topics include:

Lido House Hotel Project – Bob Olson, developer of the hotel, will update residents on the project’s status and the plan’s scheduled hearing before the California Coastal Commission in early October.

Lido Fire Station – Fire Chief Scott Poster will brief residents on the fire station’s operations.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Flight Path and Noise Issues – City Manager Dave Kiff will provide an update on recent activities at John Wayne Airport and with the FAA.

Hoag Hospital’s Chemical Dependency Recovery Center (CDRC) – Dr. Michael Brant-Zawadzki will discuss the recent opening of the CDRC as part of the Hoag Neurosciences Institute and its important work on the treatment of addiction.

Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments.
*District 1 includes West Newport, the Peninsula, Lido Isle, Bay Island and Newport Island.
