DAN MATUSIEWICZ
City of Newport Beach Finance Director
Dan has more than 25 years of experience in municipal finance and accounting. He started his career in public accounting by auditing local governments throughout California before accepting a position at the City of Newport Beach in 1992. As the finance director, Dan oversees the City’s $300-million annual budget and its $250-million investment portfolio.
He is a frequently requested to speak at local government finance seminars and is a frequent contributor to the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers Magazine.
Dan holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. He is Certified California Municipal Treasurer and Certified Fixed Income Practitioner.
