The effects of the coronavirus are great and we desperately need your help!

Personal Protective Equipment

Patients with preexisting conditions like stage 4 cancer who have tested positive for COVID-19, are being transferred to hospice so that the hospitals can save the beds and the ventilators for those who have a longer life expectancy. With limited PPE, this leaves hospice nurses completely exposed and unprotected to care for these patients.

We are asking our community to connect us with contacts who may have masks, gowns or gloves. If you know of any contractors, painters, manufacturers, private dentists or other professionals who would be able to donate masks, gowns, gloves or other PPE, please let us know.

More specifically, below is a list of the Personal Protective Equipment needed:
• Masks (N95 Masks, surgical masks)
• Gowns
• Thermometers
• Face Shields
• Goggles or eye protection
• Shoe covers
• Gloves
• Hand sanitizers
• Disinfectant spray
• Disinfectant wipes

We are also seeking seamstresses and fabric to sew masks and gowns and would love your help in connecting us with
these individuals and businesses. We have a pattern, so please let us know if you are interested.

Helping Patients with Food
Many of our patients and families are experiencing deep anxiety. Patients in nursing facilities are isolated from their family and friends. Home patients who are 65 or older have been told to shelter in place, and many are unable to receive visits from loved ones. Exacerbating this isolation, many do not have adequate access to food, paper towels, or toilet paper. In response, we are developing partnerships with churches, local businesses, volunteer groups and food banks to deliver bags of groceries to our hospice partners, ensuring that patients’ essential needs continue to be met.
