55th Annual Athletic Awards Dinner

Outstanding student athletes from Newport Harbor, Corona del Mar and Sage Hill Schools will be honored for their athletic achievements at this dinner event. In addition, special coaches will be honored.

Brian Goodell

Two Time Olympic Gold Medalist

Brian was a two-time Gold medalist in swimming at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, and is highly respected for his mental toughness as a legendary distance swimmer. He won the 1500m and 400m Freestyle events in Montreal. He also worked with many of the medalists at the 2012 London Olympics to help them develop their Gold Medal Mindsets, and has shared his secrets with thousands of athletes, real estate agents, and business audiences across the country. During his swimming career, he set 15 World and American records and won 19 US National and NCAA titles. He was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame, and was awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor, the United States Congressional Gold Medal of Achievement as a member of the 1980 US Olympic Team.

Brian discovered that the championship traits he developed also applied to his successful real estate development and sales career, including master-planned communities of Rancho Santa Margarita, and several million square feet of industrial distribution centers, hotels and prisons over the past 30 years.
