 o Plaza will kick off the holidays with a festive Tree Lighting Ceremony f
 or the community on Thursday\, Dec. 4 from 5 to 7pm. Visitors will enjoy c
 arolers from Newport Harbor High School\, in-store promotions\, enter-to-w
 in opportunities\, and a complimentary Christmas movie playing at The Lido
  Theater. The evening will culminate in a 20 ft. Coastal Redwood Pine bein
 g lit in front of West Marine at 7pm.\n\nThe evening’s fun will begin ne
 ar West Marine with a Scavenger Hunt that will take visitors to stores and
  restaurants throughout the center and provide an opportunity to win a var
 iety of prizes when returning the completed\, stamped card before the Tree
  Lighting at 7pm. Among the prizes are a $500 gift card to Via Lido Drugs\
 , a pair of sunglasses from SALT Optics (a $500 value)\, a Newport Gift Ba
 sket from Crews Quarters (a $150 value)\, and free pizza for a year from Z
 pizza (three people will win a coupon booklet providing one free pizza onc
 e a month.) Winners will be announced at the Tree Lighting and need to be 
 present to win.\n\nIn addition\, West Marine will have a kid's craft where
  children can build small wooden boats\, SALT Optics will have cookie deco
 rating for youngsters\, and visitors can meet Santa inside ReMax. The Lido
  House will also be on hand to provide hot apple cider.\n\nThe Coastal Red
 wood Pine is a permanent addition to Via Lido Plaza\, as part of the cente
 r’s on-going improvements. Coming on the heels of the Lido Theater resto
 ration\, Fritz Duda Company has added blue and grey striped awnings to the
  center\, and refreshed signage with a bright blue and orange decorative s
 ail at the entrance of the center at Balboa Blvd. and Finley. Additional i
 mprovements will be coming in 2026.\n\nVia Lido Plaza\, including the icon
 ic Lido Theater\, was purchased by Fritz Duda Company in 1986 and the comp
 any has continued the stewardship of the landmark property and entertainme
 nt venue. The company most recently restored Lido Theater to its original 
 art deco design\, celebrating the five-year project with a grand reopening
  in the fall of 2024. Via Lido Plaza is located at 3459 Via Lido\, off New
