 inted to the California Coastal Commission by the State Senate Rules Commi
 ttee in 2011.  He is serving his second four year term on the Commission 
 and his third one year term as Chair. He is also completing his fifth term
  as a member of the Marin County Board of Supervisors\, after which he wil
 l be leaving public office on January2\, 2017. During his time on the Comm
 ission\, Steve has sought to strengthen the Commission’s relationships w
 ith the public\, applicants and diverse stakeholder organizations.\n\nAs C
 hair of the Commission\, Steve also holds a Board position on the Californ
 ia Coastal Conservancy Board of Directors\, the agency that allocates gran
 ts. Steve has found the duty of giving away money for resource protection 
 and coastal access to be more appreciated than regulating coastal developm
 ent\, but he considers both to be an integral part of stewarding our remar
 kable coastline for future generations to also enjoy and care for.[/vc_col
