years of nonprofit experience spanning fundraising\, advocacy\, environmen
tal protection\, education and community relations in California and New Y
ork\, Dunn’s expertise lies in diversifying fundraising opportunities\,
strategizing successful advocacy campaigns and creating time-tested and re
sults-driven educational programs.  Before joining Crystal Cove Conservan
cy in August 2016\, Dunn was a long-standing environmental leader in Los A
ngeles\, serving most recently as President and CEO of the acclaimed Heal
the Bay in Santa Monica\, California.  Fluent in non-profit finance\, ope
rations\, structure and fundraising\, Dunn joins Crystal Cove at the time
when the organization is poised to take on one of its most important chall
enges to date: the restoration of the final 17 historic cottages on the No
rth Beach and the expansion of its education and conservation programs to
include coastal dynamics and coastal engineering.\n\nIn her role as Crysta
l Cove Conservancy’s President &amp\; CEO\, Dunn is not only charged the
overall leadership of the nonprofit including its partnership with State
Parks and the implementation of education and conservation work\, she also
manages the organization’s for-profit subsidiary\, Crystal Cove Managem
ent Company (CCMC). CCMC holds the concession contract for lodging and foo
d service in Crystal Cove State Park providing affordable overnight beach-
front rentals in historic mid-century cottages to more than 25\,000 guests
each year.\n\nGrowing up along the banks of the Hudson River and spending
summers on the shores of the Long Island Sound\, her love of water is in
her DNA.  She began her work at Heal the Bay in the summer of 1993\, and
in 2001\, moved back to her home state of New York to work for Scenic Huds
on\, an environmental and land trust organization dedicated to protecting
the Hudson River Valley. In 2006\, she returned to Southern California to
become part of Heal the Bay’s senior management team providing strategic
leadership for the organization including the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.
Dunn has dedicated her career to the protection of landscapes and water
ways through her leadership in advocacy and policy campaigns here in Calif
ornia and in the Hudson River Valley. She holds a bachelor’s degree in P
olitical Science from California State University\, Northridge as well as
a Certificate of Non-profit Executive Leadership from Stanford University
