 presented California’s 74th Assembly District since 2014. He began his c
 areer in public service in 1998 when he was elected to the Huntington Beac
 h Union High School District Board of Trustees. After 12 years on the scho
 ol board he was elected to the Huntington Beach City Council\, where he se
 rved for one term before being elected Mayor of Huntington Beach. Matthew 
 attended Orange Coast College before transferring to the University of Sou
 thern California\, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy 
 and management. Matthew is a real estate broker in Huntington Beach\, wher
