DESCRIPTION:Sherman Library &amp\; Gardens is pleased to announce GLASSCAPE
 S by Viscosity\nA dynamic and temporary blown glass sculpture exhibit comi
 ng June 3rd thru October 29\, 2017. Artists Scott Graham &amp\; Cristy Alo
 ysi of Viscosity Glass Studio\, in Boulder Creek\, CA\, are installing fiv
 e beautiful contemporary blown glass sculptures for their second exhibit i
 n a public garden setting.\nThis husband &amp\; wife team\, began their gl
 assblowing careers at Urban Glass in Brooklyn\, NY\, where they became fas
 cinated with the ancient process of glassmaking. The challenge of forming 
 beautiful handmade objects out of molten material captivated them. While i
 n New York they became involved in the city’s energetic art and design w
 orld and soon brought that influence into their work. After leaving New Yo
 rk\, the couple went on to study at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood\
 , WA\, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle ME.\, Centro Studio
  Vetro in Venice\, Italy and Pratt Fine Art Center in Seattle\, WA. In 200
 2 Scott &amp\; Cristy moved to Seattle WA\, the center of the American art
  glass movement\, to create a line of contemporary glass objects for the h
 ome. Their goal is to create pieces that are unique in their clean lines a
 nd simple designs. The couple now resides in Boulder Creek\, CA\, surround
 ed by the serene beauty of the redwoods\, where they continue to design an
 d make original blown glass pieces.\nInspired by the amazing plants and gr
 ounds of Sherman Library &amp\; Gardens\, Scott and Cristy created three o
 riginal pieces just for the Gardens. These brand new pieces will accompany
  two sculptures previously displayed at Fioli Gardens in Redwood City\, CA
  during the summer of 2016.\n\nSherman Library &amp\; Gardens\, celebratin
 g 50 years\, is a vibrant cultural center in the heart of Corona del Mar. 
 Visitors can explore the nationally renowned botanic gardens which boast o
 ver 100 species of palms from around the world\, a lush tropical conservat
 ory\, artistic succulent garden and gorgeous annual flower displays. Wheth
 er its sculptures in the garden like “Glasscapes” or the permanent col
 lection of California Plein air paintings displayed in the historic resear
 ch Library the lush garden setting plays host to an array of festivals\, p
 rograms\, and art displays. The Library specializes in the history of the 
 Pacific Southwest with artifacts displayed through revolving exhibits in t
 he Adobe Gallery. Café Jardin features coastal garden cuisine under the d
 irection of executive chef Pascal Olhats who marries vibrantly fresh Calif
 ornia produce with a French pedigree.\n\nOpen Daily 10:30 am to 4:00 pm\nA
 dmission: Adults $5.00 12-18 $3.00 and under 12 free. The Gardens are alwa
