DESCRIPTION:Join Newport Beach Mayor Kevin Muldoon\, the Newport Beach City
  Council and members of the Deaf Community throughout Southern California 
 as we celebrate the City of Newport Beach becoming the first LP Certified 
 Deaf Friendly City in the United States.\n\nThe event begins with a recept
 ion at 6 pm on Friday\, March 10 at Marina Park\, located at 1600 W. Balbo
 a Boulevard in Newport Beach.\n\nAt 6:30 p.m.\, Mayor Muldoon will make a 
 special presentation to the Deaf Community as well as Lisa Wrench\, CEO of
  Language People Inc.\n\nLanguage People recently installed its proprietar
 y video remote interpreting technology at several City facilities. This re
 volutionary technology allows the deaf and hard of hearing to communicate 
 in American Sign Language through a video remote interpreter. Language Peo
 ple staff will be on hand to demonstrate its technology.\n\nRefreshments a
 nd hearty appetizers will be served. The event and parking is free.\n\n
