 [vc_column_text]\nGuest Speaker\n\nSteve Beuerlein\nFormer NFL Quarterback
and\nCurrent NFL and College Football Analyst for CBS\n[/vc_column_text][
 /vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Steve grew up in So
uthern California where he was a 4-sport letterman at Servite High School\
, an all-boys Catholic school in Anaheim\, CA. He led Servite to the 1982
California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Big Five football
championship where he was named player of the year. Steve was also an All
-CIF basketball player.  In his first football game of that 1982 season\,
Beuerlein played against Ohio's famed Moeller High School. His performan
ce caught the eye of Notre Dame head coach Gerry Faust\, who had coached
at Moeller prior to taking the Notre Dame job. After Servite went on to
win its final eleven games\, Faust offered Beuerlein a scholarship to play
football in South Bend.\n\nBeuerlein attended Notre Dame in 1983 and was
a 4-year starter. He played his last year at Notre Dame under legendary Co
ach Lou Holtz who credits Steve’s senior year team with providing the le
adership and example that set the tone for Notre Dame’s 1988 National Ch
ampionship. Steve holds the distinction of being one of only two quarterba
cks in school history to lead Notre Dame to victory over rival USC four co
nsecutive years.\n\nBeuerlein was drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in th
e fourth round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He played four years with the Raider
s then was traded to the Dallas Cowboys before the 1991 season. That year\
, Beuerlein stepped in for an injured Troy Aikman and led the Cowboys to f
ive straight wins including their first playoff victory in nine years. The
following season with Aikman healthy again\, the Cowboys won Super Bowl X
XVII. Head Coach Jimmy Johnson credited Beuerlein with playing a key role
in helping the Cowboys reestablish a championship mentality.\n\nHe next pl
ayed for the Arizona Cardinals\, passing for his first of three\, 3\,000-y
ard seasons. In 1995\, he was the first pick in the NFL Expansion Draft by
the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 1996\, he was acquired by the Carolina Panth
ers where he remained for five years. Beuerlein holds many Panthers passin
g records. Most of these include single-season records set during 1999 for
passing yards (4\,436)\, touchdowns (36)\, attempts (571)\, and completio
ns (343). He was named to the Pro Bowl that year. Beuerlein finished his c
areer with the Denver Broncos playing in twelve games during 2002 and 2003
.\n\nAfter his 17th season in the NFL and at the age of 39\, Beuerlein ret
ired as a Carolina Panther. For his career\, Beuerlein started 102 games\,
threw for than 24\,000 career passing yards and 147 touchdown passes. In
2004\, Beuerlein joined CBS Sports as a game analyst for The NFL on CBS wh
ere he provided color commentary. Beuerlein now calls college football gam
es on the radio for Compass Media.\n\nBeuerlein resides in Orange County\,
California where he works as a commercial insurance broker with Marsh. He
has two sons and two daughters.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_
