He teaches economics in the MBA program with a focus on Asian econo mies. At the Anderson Forecast he plays a key role in the economic modelin g and forecasting of the National\, and California economies. He has condu cted research in the areas of labor economics\, industrial organization\, statistics\, and international monetary economics\, focusing on the develo pment of new data and the application of economic theory and statistical m ethods to policy issues. His current academic research is on specific skil ls\, structural unemployment\, and the seasonal adjustment of time series. He is a regular presenter at Economic Conferences is cited in the nationa l media including the Financial Times\, Wall Street Journal\, New York Tim es\, Los Angeles Times\, and Reuters.\n\nHe received his Ph.D. in economic s from the University of Minnesota in 1980 specializing in monetary econom ics and econometrics. He was formerly a professor of Economics at the Univ ersity of Southern California and has held executive positions with McDonn ell Douglas\, FlightSafety International\, and FlightSafety Boeing during a fifteen-year span in the aviation business.
